« Queens day in The Netherlands | Home | Our world will change soon »

I do realize that global warming is a bad thing. At least that’s what the majority of the scientists tell us, as well as our governments. However the last few weeks I am kind of enjoying this global warming thing. The month of April was almost as if it was summer. Normally April in the Netherlands is a mix of rain, clouds and sun. But last few weeks is more like it is already July or August. Temperatures like 25 till 28 degrees Celsius seem to be normal nowadays. So you will hear no complains from me! I love this weather!
This might however be a short term vision. Today I heard on the news that the Netherlands is the 28th country on the list of biggest polluters in the world! Then you could ask the question: “is global waming really caused by humans?” A United Nations report earlier this year said humans are very likely to be to blame for global warming and there is “virtually no doubt” it is linked to man’s use of fossil fuels. But other climate experts say there is little scientific evidence to support the theory. In fact global warming could be caused by increased solar activity such as a massive eruption. I personally think humans probably are to blame for this, but then again, I’m not a climate expert! Fact is: the sea level is rising, and given the fact that about 50% of the Netherlands is below sea level, gives us some challenging tasks for the next years. But for now, I’m just enjoying the sunny weather!
Ijust saw an interesting video about the effects of global warming all over the world, it can be found on: http://www.nytimes.com/packages/html/science/20070403_CLIMATE_FEATURE/blocker.html
