Queens day in The Netherlands

By Andree Toonk | April 30, 2007

Every year at the 30th April in the Netherlands we celebrate the birthday of our queen. In the night of 29/30 April, this is what we call queens night, in most of the Dutch cities there are festivals, with music and all kinds of performances. queensday

On Queensday its self the festival goes on, as well as a market throughout the whole city where everyone can sell their old stuff as 2ns hand merchandise. I still think this is kind of weird. But some people seem to make a lot of money with that. From last year I remember some guy earned about 4000 Euro with just selling old stuff from his basement! Any way, I’m more into the festivals; I can only say for those of you who do not life in the Netherlands, you are missing a great day.
In my photo album you will find some pictures of queensnight and queensday in Utrecht!

I also made some small movies:

    Hi Dre,

It was really an amazing party!
Do you know the name of that band?

Maybe the best queens day ever!

    Kind regards,

    Hi Roel,

It sure was a beautiful day. We were very lucky with the weather as well. The name of that great band was stampede, check their website at: http://www.stampedeska.nl/
