On Sunday together with Roel I went to see the Simpson movie! This is something we’ve been looking forward for a long time as we both are big Simpsons, or to be more precisely Homer Simpson, fans!
The movie begins with Homer asking “Why would anyone pay to see something they could watch on TV for free ?” And he’s right, why would we pay to see them if it’s for free on TV? Well because this is an extra long version! So this is an extra dose of Simspons, which we looked forward to for over a year!
The Simpsons Movie is about how Homer accidentally (of course) caused an environmental crisis by dumping a silo full of his newly acquired pet pig’s waste into a lake in Springfield. Then the EPA ordered an airtight dome placed over the entire city. The city suffers, the Simpsons family escapes to Alaska, finally returns to save Springfield.
In general the movie was great, just like most of the Simpsons episodes. But not really a lot extra, I mean, two hours of a movie and the only one getting drunk is Bart ? Where is Moe’s Tavern, Barney or Homer hanging out with Lenny/Carl ? Flanders is a cool normal person, rather than being a complete example of square-hood. There’s no Apu at all and I don’t know why we didn’t get to see Patty & Selma blame it all on Homer.
Memorable or not, it was funny while it lasted! To celebrate the Simpsons movie, I decided to dress up my website and weblog with some Homer Simpsons quotes! You will find them in top banner! Let me know what you think of it!
