This week I arrived back from a 10days trip to Vancouver. It was a great week and for those of you who are interested in the photos, they can be found here. This time I found a ticket at LTU, a German charter airline, comparable to the Dutch air line Martin air. I departed from Düsseldorf, Germany in a few weeks old Airbus A330! For a charter flight this was quite a comfortable and luxury airplane. I stayed at Gleyse’s place which was quite an adventure because her landlord didn’t really allow me to stay over there. So every time I had to sneak in and out of the house. I had 2 job interviews in Vancouver, of which one looks very promising. My job search is going better and better every day, and I am very pleasantly surprised by the help I get from different people. Thanks for that!
What else did we do? We went to visit the Vancouver art gallery where they had exclusive collection of paintings by painters such as van Gogh, Mondriaan, Picasso, Dali, Monet and much more. On July the first I experienced Canada day, this is Canada’s birthday. It’s kind of like queensday over here, although much less crazy. There are festivals all over the city, lots of places where you can buy food and at night there was a firework. In the movie theater I saw Sicko, the new movie of by director Michael Moore, about the health care system in de USA. In the Netherlands this movie will be released in November and I can advice you to go see it!
Ooh and Marco, this time I specifically looked for sailing opportunities. There are quite some companies where they rent sailing boats, so that should not be a problem! I think a nice sailing adventure is a trip to Vancouver Island. What do you think of that?
So now I am back in the Netherlands again, I have 5 more weeks to go at SARA and then a one week holiday with my family in France! After that one more week to move out of my current apartment and then in the first week of September I will fly to Vancouver.
